Store Events Dress Up Your Dog
|
A Dog's Day at Lockside is held annually on the grounds at Lockside Trading Company, located on the shores of the Trent Severn Waterway at Lock 27 in Young's Point. Participants are invited to bring along their dogs and dress them up for a best costume competition. Other special events include a doggy fashion show, a dog/owner look-a-like contest, best trick or talent competition and a longest and shortest tail contest. Participation fees are $20 per entry for the afternoon and are payable at the event or in advance at Lockside Trading Company. All participants will receive a "free gift" and prizes will also be provided for each event competition. Admission is free but we ask that you make a donation to L.A.W.S, so bring your friends and family out for an afternoon of laughs and fun!
"We are happy to continue our support of L.A.W.S. and hope that this event will help with building awareness of their services and ongoing needs," says Lockside owner and organizer Sue Mattucci. The Lakefield Animal Welfare Society is a non-profit organization. It was established in 1992 by a group of five women with a goal of rescuing stray, injured and abused animals in the Lakefield area. Laws' is run strictly on donations, memberships and adoption fees. They do not benefit from any outside government or private sector funding.
